We’re Still Open HV is a local resource for brick and mortar businesses in the Hudson Valley Region. This website allows the community to know and search for which businesses are still open during the COVD-19 pandemic. Essential businesses can list themselves on the website by filling out an online form and visitors can simply search the businesses they need by keyword, town, or county. There are over 700 businesses such as restaurants, farms, coffee shops, bakeries, boutiques, and retail businesses listed on We’re Still Open HV.
I created a logo design with a modern and simplistic approach. The icon showcases community and restaurant take out, then I paired it with a san serif font to create a warm and friendly feel emphasized by bright, yet soft, colors. I then created a website (WordPress powered and responsive) that was simple and easy to navigate with large color blocks to separate information. I also wanted to enhance each business by using corresponding graphics of fresh fruit/vegetables and office supplies. I also designed eye catching social media content to attract the community to use the free resource and promote traffic to the website.
